The Atomic Bombs!
Finally, the Japanese Imperial Army has surrendered and the war in the Pacific is over. Nearly 250,000 Japanese lost their lives due to the atomic bombs called "Fat Man" and "Little Boy". The specifics were told by Mr. Chisholm in class, but their power was unbelieveable. The size of a bowling ball, to cause a catastrophy like that is one for the record books.

Random Pearl Harbor stuff...
This has nothing to do with the island hopping, but i just read an article on the Pearl Harbor attack from the Japanese perspective. Apperantly Japan did not only have airplanes during the attack. There were 5 submarines that were not detected by radar that sunk ships from underneath. Throughout the course of time, four out of the five Imperial subs have been discovered, but one was not! If you look into it, there is a screenshot that you can find( note it will take some time) of the last, missing submarine. I thought it was interesting so if you are bored, look it up. This is one of the subs.

Operation Cartwheel
Operation Cartwheel was an interesting event in the Pacific. I really got a kick out of the way the Americans got around the territory. They only went for their targets. There could have been a huge number of Japanese reinforcements on another island, but if there was not an airstrip, they were ignored. The U.S. had a mission, and did not let anything get in their way. Move to the Philippeans as fast as they possibly could.
