Mark Cole's WWI Propaganda

Global war and British Empire

WWI was considered a "global war" because it spread throughout the world. When Germany had a some-what strong navy, they spread their empire all around. They took land in Africa, the Carribiean, islands in the Pacific, and a major port in China. Germany wanted to destroy the British Empire so they could have control. The British Empire was strong and stable, but with ships spread out, and Germany with an upperhand, it was vounerable. When the battles between Germany and the British "rang out", everyone around the globe knew, and took part, in opposing this threat.
